Introducing Ed and Alanna H2.0, the world’s first water fillable sculpting busts from The Monster Makers. Completely reengineered and reimagined, Ed and Alanna H2.0 are composed of a special, high-density plastic that can withstand the rigors of mold making and years of continued use with little to no wear. Not only are Ed and Alanna endlessly reusable, but Mold Making has never been easier. Simply sculpt your character over the form and make your mold, and here is where the magic comes into play: RAD (Radiant Assisted Demold) Technology provides an easy, built in clay release system which dramatically aides in the demolding process for artists and mask makers using wax based clay mediums. Each RAD enhanced headform becomes, in effect, a hot water vessel which efficiently transfers radiant heat from inside the form to the surrounding clay causing a softening effect within the mold. Molds made over RAD enhanced forms can be demolded rapidly and without difficulty, resulting in a greatly improved mold-making experience. When you are ready to demold, simply turn the mold over with the bottom side up, unscrew the included inset bottle cap and fill the head form with hot water. Within minutes, radiant heat will begin to penetrate the clay and into the mold for the easiest demolding experience you’ve ever had. Say goodbye to broken or stuck head forms!
Monster Clay is becoming a very popular alternative to the Chavant NSP range. I’m still fond of my Chavant medium for sculpting prosthetic appliances but have been doing some maquettes with Monster Clay recently and I know a lot of people swear by it. Here’s the product description from the Monster Makers website;
Monster Clay® Premium Grade Modeling Clay is a re-useable sulphur free, professional oil/wax based sculpting medium. Composed entirely of non-toxic, food grade components, Monster Clay® has an ultra smooth formulation that features a low melt temperature and a low tack feel that will not stick to tools or fingers. Monster Clay has high plasticity and has a unique elastic quality much like soft taffy when warm. At average room temperature Monster is firm enough to capture even the finest details and can be re-used and re-melted indefinitely. Monster Clay melts easily to a pourable consistency and is great for making copies of life casts where changes are needed. This sulphur free recipe is compatible with platinum silicone molding compounds. Buy it once and re-use it over and over again. Each five pound quantity of Monster Clay® Premium is individually packaged in a convenient, reusable ovenable container. Best of all Monster Clay has lower density than the average oil based clays. This means that you receive approximately 25% more clay per pound without the added cost.
